Highlighting is a process of marking a cell or range of cells for the purpose of adjustment or change. This change includes bolding, copying, cutting, italicising, alignment, deleting, etc. it should be noted that highlighting text, figures or formulae is necessary before performing any of the earlier listed changes in the Microsoft Excel.
You may follow the standard Windows’ technique using the SHIFT key in conjunction with any navigation pattern for highlighting purpose. However, Excel also has some of its own specialised method of highlighting and selecting cell or range of cells in a worksheet. This will be discussed in this post with example.

You can analyse data through many sheets in a workbook by using a 3D reference. In other words, if you have many worksheets in a workbook with a single cell or range of cells with data in them which you want to sum, multiply, use a function on, etc, you can do this by referring to the range of worksheets to be included followed by the range of cells to be acted on. The cells must be in the same place in the workbook on all worksheets. For example, with your cursor in the cell you want the result to appear in on the worksheet you want it on, to sum all of the figures in cell C3 in worksheets 5 to 40 you would use the formula:
=SUM(SHEET5:SHEET40!c3)

We have houses with home addresses on the street, and we have shops in shopping mall with their various shop numbers or ID; they direct us to the specific house or shop we want to go. So also, web addresses take us straight to our desired websites holding on to the fact that they are buildings as explained in the previous post. For example, www.slnconline.com.ng/store directs you to the store’s web page on this website where you can purchase and order for different materials. But typing just www.slnconline.com.ng into the web browser will only take you to the home page.
